Interior Intumescent Steel Structure Fireproof Paint
Product introduction:
KD-NSP-Fp2.00-SB-2 Interior Steel Intumescent Structure Fireproof Paint is a water based ultra-thin expandable fireproof coating designed for steel structures.
 
Application scope:
This product is capable of withstanding hydrocarbon fires and can be widely used for fire protection of outdoor steel structures in the petroleum and petrochemical industry, as well as in industrial and civil construction.

Substrate Treatment and Construction Methods
(I) Substrate Treatment
1. Surface Treatment of Steel Structures:
(1) Surface Treatment of New Common Steel Structures:
After sandblasting and derusting the surface of the steel structure, apply a matching anti-rust and anti-corrosion coating. It is recommended to use an epoxy zinc-rich primer followed by an epoxy cloud iron intermediate paint system.
(2) Surface Treatment of Galvanized Steel Structures:
To ensure good adhesion with the fireproof coating, it is necessary to use an epoxy coating transition paint before construction.
(3) Surface Treatment of Old Steel Structures or Old Primers:
If the primer is undamaged and the surface is clean, check the compatibility of the fireproof coating and primer. If there is no primer or the primer is severely damaged, it must be rusted and recoated with anti-corrosion paint before construction.
2. Before construction, thoroughly check whether the steel parts are painted with anti-rust paint, whether there is dust, oil stains, cracks, or inadequate welding on beams and columns. Construction can only commence after ensuring there are no issues.
3. Steel components without anti-rust treatment must undergo anti-rust treatment (this process is generally the responsibility of the user).
 
(II) Application of Fireproof Coating
1. Open the packaging on-site and use electric stirring until uniform consistency is achieved. If the material is too thick, a small amount of neutral water can be added until it is suitable for brushing, but it should not exceed 5% of the coating volume.
2. Spray application is preferred for this coating. Alternate between horizontal and vertical strokes for each pass until a uniform and smooth finish is achieved.
3. Requirements for Temperature and Humidity During Application:
The coating should be applied at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C and with a relative humidity ≤80%. High humidity or low temperatures will prolong drying time and reduce adhesion and other performance properties of the coating.
4. Apply the coating in layers, with the thickness of each pass determined by the construction environment and temperature. The thickness of the first pass should generally be less than 2mm, with subsequent passes around 1-2mm each until the design thickness is achieved.
5. Under normal conditions, allow at least 12 hours between each application. Adjust the interval between applications accordingly in case of high or low temperatures. Touch the surface of the coating to check for a certain hardness before proceeding with the next pass.
6. During the application process, it is recommended to wrap the steel with alkali-free fiberglass cloth when the coating reaches a thickness of around 2-2.5mm (dry film). Overlap the fiberglass cloth by 5-10cm, then use a spatula to press it along one direction, paying attention to pressing firmly at corners and joints, ensuring there are no hollow areas before proceeding to the next application.
7. When spraying, ensure that the spray gun is perpendicular to the sprayed steel component, with a distance of 0.2 to 0.5 meters, and maintain an air pressure of 0.6-0.8MPa. The diameter of the spray gun nozzle should be no less than 4mm.
8. Ensure complete closure of the coating during spraying.
9. For local repairs and small-area construction, manual application can be used.
10. High humidity, low gas flow, or low steel temperatures may result in condensation on the steel, leading to poor adhesion of the coating, and even cracking, peeling, or flaking.

Decorative Fire Retardant Paint This product is a two-component epoxy coating containing mica iron oxide pigments to enhance corrosion resistance and improve recoating performance after aging.
Tunnel Fire Retardant Coating This product can be applied to the concrete surfaces of industrial and residential buildings, as well as tunnels on highways and railways. When exposed to fire, it forms a fire-resistant and heat-insulating protective layer to enhance the fire resistance limit of the structure.
